Taiwan’s Vice Premier Cheng Li-chun says negotiations with Washington to reduce the 20% U.S. reciprocal tariff on most Taiwanese goods are still in progress and the rate is not final. She also addressed reports that the U.S. is linking trade talks to defense spending, saying Taiwan has already committed to raising its defense budget above 3% of GDP.
